Yeah, yeah...I got my first ticket.

So...I'm just going to say it like it is. Today, I was going to work. The road I normally take to work was being re-paved or something, but I've seen people go through it, despite the "ROAD CLOSED" signs and barricades. The barricades were positioned so that cars could get through (why, I don't know), anyway. So, I go through, thinking it was no big deal. After all, everybody else was doing it, too.

I get to the light at the end of the road, and it was red. So I'm sitting there, and a cop car pulls up behind me really suddenly and turns his flashers on. I'm thinking "shitshitshit!!!" So I put it in park, and sat there, waiting for the guy to come out. He comes to my window, and asks for my ID and registration/insurance. Apparently, it's still illegal to go through a "ROAD CLOSED" road, even though everybody else was going through it without trouble. He takes my ID and shit, and says "okay, I'll be right back with your ticket!" Like it's a frickin' prize or something. Grr. He comes back out with the ticket, and gives my stuff back. Any questions? he says. No, yadda yadda, whatever. Okay, have a nice day! I know, technically, I shouldn't have done it. But the thing is, while he was talking to me and writing my ticket, tons of cars went by him, and obviously came through the road closed sign.

I told my parents after I got home from work, and they were understanding about it. So, I'm going to call the number on the ticket tomorrow, and either find out how much I owe and pay it, or go to court and settle it.
